Choose a track for the actual edition
A film title can be available through several services with different audio and subtitle options. Check the track menu of the edition you select. The original-language label on CartoonHD identifies the production, not a complete list of dubs.
Animation and remembered voices
Different regional releases may change names, songs or voice casts. If a particular dub is the one you want to revisit, confirm it before beginning. Searching the original production gets you to the right story, but only the offered edition settles which performance you will hear.
Captions and readable text
Where offered, captions can include speaker labels and sound information. Standard subtitles may focus only on dialogue. Choose a size and contrast that suit your screen, especially when watching a television from across the room.
When the timing is wrong
Check that the track belongs to the cut being played. A recap or different edit can create timing differences. Use a subtitle-delay setting only if the player supports it and the track otherwise matches. For no spoken dialogue, as in Flow, do not assume the absence of dialogue means the film has no meaningful sound.
